Alhandra is a hometown of an old Portuguese parish in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, with an area of 1.65 km² and 6 047 inhabitants (2011). Its population density was 3,664.8 inhabitants / km². It borders on the northeast with the parish of Vila Franca de Xira, on the northwest and west with São João dos Montes, on the south and southwest with Sobralinho, and the east with the Tagus river.
