Torres Vedras is a Portuguese city in the district of Lisbon, integrating the West Region in the Center of Portugal, with 25.717 inhabitants (2012).
It is the seat of the most extensive municipality in the district of Lisbon, with 407.15 km² in area, and 79.465 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 13 parishes. It is the most populous municipality in the Intermunicipal Community of the West. Torres Vedras is limited to the north by the municipality of Lourinhã, to the northeast by Cadaval, to the east by Alenquer, to the south by Sobral de Monte Agraço, and Mafra, and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Torres Vedras is located about 41 km northwest of Lisbon.

Economy
A few kilometers from Lisbon, Torres Vedras presents lands rich in polyculture (such as the cultivation of beans, potatoes, vines), and is even the municipality with the largest production of wine nationwide.
Agricultural activity, the agri-food, and metallurgical industry, and retail trade assume a predominant role.
Torres Vedras is also one of the counties with the greatest wine tradition in the country, namely in red, white, and rosé wines. It was considered in 2018, together with Alenquer, the European City of Wine.
The business fabric of the municipality of Torres Vedras consists of 9976 companies, of which 27.7% take the form of a company.
The 20 kilometers of coastline also make the municipality a reference tourist destination.
