Sacavém is a Portuguese village in the municipality of Loures, a few kilometers northeast of the country's capital, Lisbon, with an area of 4.08 km² and 18,469 inhabitants (2011). Demographic density: 4,526.7 h/km².
Located at the crossroads of the roads that, coming from the North and East, headed to Lisbon, Sacavém was present in countless moments in the History of Portugal.
Located in the eastern part of the municipality of Loures, Sacavém borders the parishes of Unhos (northwest), Camarate (west), Prior Velho (southwest), Portela, (south) and Moscavide (southeast), and is still bathed by the Tagus Estuary (to the east) and by the River Trancão, formerly called Rio de Sacavém (to the north, which separates this parish from Bobadela).
Sacavém is only about a kilometer from Lisbon Airport.
