LISBOA DISTRICT - VILLAGES, CITIES AND INTERESTING PLACES

             


The district of Lisbon is a Portuguese district, which borders on the north with the district of Leiria, on the east with the district of Santarém, on the south with the district of Setúbal, and the west with the Atlantic Ocean. The district has an area of ​​2,761 km² and is thus the 16th largest Portuguese district. The resident population was 2,265,832 inhabitants (2018). The capital of this district is the city of Lisbon.
According to statistics from the National Institute of Statistics / Pordata in 2018, there were 2,265,832 inhabitants in the district of Lisbon, distributed among the sixteen municipalities, with the municipalities in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Lisbon being the most populous. Greater Lisbon has an average of 2 million inhabitants.

The population structure shows that 56% are between 15 and 64 years old, with the same weight between the population between 0 and 14 and over 65 years old (15% and 17% respectively).
In evolutionary terms, the population between the years 1980 and 1999 remained stable with more or less 2 million inhabitants. From 1999 to 2005, the district's population grew by around 200 million inhabitants. In 2005, the district of Lisbon recorded a birth rate of 11.6 per thousand and a mortality rate of 2.6 per thousand. The population is under renovation.
